2 KANTO GAKUIN NEWS No.43Grand Design for Kanto GakuinPresentation of the Grand Design for Further Development of Kanto GakuinYoshihiro Iida, Chairperson of the Board of TrusteesKanto Gakuin has been focusing its efforts on making itself stand out in the 21st century. As a part of the efforts, “Kanto Gakuin Grand Design”was formulated in July of last year with the cooperation of many people.The Grand Design is based on the history and tradition of Kanto Gakuin with emphasis on its school motto. The“objectives and missions of Kanto Gakuin”presented in the Grand Design center around the education for humanity based on Christianity and the development of high-level intellectual skills. The Grand Design presents four goals to achieve these objectives:“Freedom and Service” is the ethos of the school, which is based on our school tradition of developing free, bright, and service-minded young students.“Practical Education,”particularly“Discipline for Coexistence,”upon which our school culture is built, provides the direction of our education and research.“Basic Plan for Operation and Management”outlines policies for providing faculty with an environment where they can perform their duties without any unnecessary worries while developing themselves through friendly competition so as to create a better environment for education. Kanto Gakuin is promoting its reform and improvements with the aim of making a quantum leap.
