14 KANTO GAKUIN NEWS No.42関東学院各校NEWS[Junior and Senior High Schools]A Visit by a Group of Exchange Students from TaiwanFrom May 20 to May 25, a group of seven students and two teachers from Chang Jung Senior High School in Taiwan, a sister school of Kanto Gakuin, visited Japan for an exchange homestay program. They enjoyed various events, including a welcome ceremony, class visitation, exchange meetings, a walk in Kamakura, a tea ceremony, and a tour of Tokyo. Students of Kanto Gakuin also enjoyed their time spent with the students of Chang Jung Senior High School. It was difficult for all participants to say “goodbye” at the end of the program. Kanto Gakuin High School students and faculty would like to express their appreciation to those families who accepted the Taiwanese students into their homes and hearts during this program.A Study Tour to AustraliaThe 12th Australia Study Tour was organized from July 25 to August 8, 2011. A total of 26 third-year junior high and first-year senior high school students participated in this 15-day program, which provided a variety of experiences. It was a fruitful tour for the students.りでした。 日本に来て何のお土産が欲しいと尋ねると、NANAのCDと私たちが使っているようなスクールバッグが欲しいと言っていたので買ってあげました。 最終日はみんなで東京都内観光をし、羽田空港でお別れ……。離れるのは淋しかったけど、受験が終わったら絶対にまた会おうと約束したので、涙は流しませんでした。また会えるのを本当に楽しみにしています。日本大震災の余波で限られた準備時間の中、大過なく終了しました。委員長鈴木鴻司郎(高校1年4組)および辻 彩花(高校1年1組)を中心に皆が自発的に行動した結果です。前半は木戸・廣田、後半は町田・伊美の合計四名の教員が引率しました。感想は十人十色であるが、より円滑なコミュニケーションを行えるようにもっと語彙力をつけたいと思った参加者が多くいました。以下、特に現地の様子が伝わる感想文を紹介します。 オーストラリアに行って高校1年5組 浅井 映 私は、7月25日の夜から初めての海外、オーストラリアに行ってきました。 ですが、オーストラリアの空港に着いたとき、私はいきなり自信を無くしました。 現地の人の言葉が全くと言っていいほど、聞き取れなかったからです。正直、2週間もホームステイなんか出来るのか? と、着いた早々不安になってしまいました。第12回 オーストラリア研修旅行東 そして、バスに乗って6時間ぐらい走ったあと、すぐに初めてホストファミリーと対面しました。私のバディ(buddy)の子は、同じ年とは思えない程大人びていて、きれいな女の子でした。ホストマザーは活発そうな元気な人に見えました。 その人達と車に乗り早速、家に向かいました。ですが、やっぱり聞き取れませんでした。 そして、働きに出ていたホストファアザーと対面して、何も出来ないまま最初の日は終わってしまいました。 でも、日が経つにつれ、だんだん英語に慣れた頃、ファミリーにボーンファイア(bonfire)に行こう。といわれました。ボーンファイアって何だろ? と思いながら、家族の車に乗り込み農場に向かいました。 そこには、一緒にオーストラリアに来た仲間もいっぱいいました。 そして、大きな乾燥した藁の山がありました。どうやら、皆で火のついた枝を持って藁の山に点火する、ということらしかったので、私も全力で点火してきました。 日本のキャンプファイアーが小さく見えるほど巨大な火柱で、びっくりしました。 火が収まってきた頃、皆がスプレー缶を持ってきて、火の中に投げ込んで、爆発させて、遊びました。あんな環境に悪い遊びは初めてです。 それからの日々はあっという間で、もう気づいたら最終日でした。その頃には、家族と宗教の話や学校の話が出来るまでになっていました。 最終日の夜に家族から私にお土産をもらったとき、日本に帰りたくなくなってしまいました。バスに乗る前みんなとハグをして、泣きながらお別れをしてきました。 たった2週間でしたが、学べること、感じることたくさんありました。 勇気を出してオーストラリアにいって本当に良かったです。Friday, August 5th (most impressive day)It has passed for 2 weeks before one knows it, today was the last day to go to school.At first, we enjoyed playing game with English teacher in the last class in the morning.In the noon, farewell party was done. We ate lunch and got some presents from Dubbo Christian School. Then, we had a time to introduce about Japanese culture at last. We introduced “KARUTA” to them. I thought Australian students enjoyed it.We joined Buddy’s class and Buddy’s friend’s sewing class in the afternoon and we made pouch with pink in the class. While we’re making it, two Buddy’s friends made present for me and Ms. Iwata.
