KANTO GAKUIN NEWS No.40Joint Project “Genbei Beach Sandals Design Contest”The “Genbei Beach Sandals Design Contest” was jointly organized by Kanto Gakuin University and Genbei Shoten, a store specializing in beach sandals. Design drawings of beach sandals proposed by students of the Department of Human Environmental Design, based on the images of three companies located in Yokohama, were displayed at a specially set up display area in Yokohama Sogo Department Store from April 20. The best designs were selected by votes and nine were commercialized. The products have been available on the 5th floor of the department store from June 29. Internship Report「げんべい商店」インターンシップ報告インターンシップでげんべい商店を選んだ理由庭山◉数あるインターンシップ先の中で、デザインができる受け入れ先が3,4社しかなく、その中で、げんべい商店のインターンシップ内容が楽しそうなものだったため。芳賀◉所属する人間環境学部で行われたげんべい商店とのコラボレーションによるビーチサンダルデザインコンテストに参加して、自分がデザインした作品が実際に商品化されたこともあり、興味を持ったため。サンダルをデザインした感想庭山◉デザイン等1連の作業には3日くらいかかりました。芳賀◉ひらめきや直感を大事にしてデザインをしました。庭山・芳賀◉(ちょうど試験期間中ということもあり、)試験、課題提出と重なり、スケジュール管理の大切さを学びました。しかし、実際に店舗に並んでいるのを見て、達成感もありました。左:人間環境学部人間環境デザイン学科3年、庭山夕貴さん右:同3年、芳賀沙織さん 中央:げんべい商店中島広行氏1位になった武田さんの作品オープンキャンパス 2010ビーチサンダル・デザイン・コンテスト
